This summer brought significant challenges to Victoria as communities faced a series of devastating bushfires, with the Longwood fire being among the most severe, impacting more than 436,000 hectares. Throughout this difficult period, our local brigades demonstrated exceptional courage, resilience, and commitment, working tirelessly to contain the fires, coordinate emergency responses, deploy critical resources, and protect lives, properties, and the environment.

Our communities are able to live safely, even during emergencies, because of the unwavering dedication of firefighters who stand ready to respond to life-threatening situations at any time. Their selfless service and commitment to safeguarding communities continue to inspire us all.

In recognition of their bravery and tireless efforts, the Australian Hindu Community (AHC) came together to express gratitude and support for these everyday heroes. We launched outreach initiatives across the broader Hindu community, encouraging contributions to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal to assist those affected by the devastating fires.

Thanks to the generosity of many individuals and families, we proudly raised a total of $2,025. AHC Inc. Office Bearers had the privilege of presenting this contribution directly to the Hoppers Crossing Fire Brigade as a token of appreciation for their extraordinary service.

This year alone, the Hoppers Crossing Fire Brigade responded to more than 600 incidents, reflecting their preparedness, dedication, and unwavering support for communities both within and beyond our local district. We are honoured to support such a vital organisation and deeply grateful for their continued service and sacrifice.
