This year, with the gracious support of the Monash Council, AHC Inc. organised a community celebration of the Indian (Hindu) New Year. The event aimed to bring together members of various state-based, linguistic, and cultural organisations representing the diverse traditions of Bharat, alongside participants from other ethnic and multicultural communities.

The celebration showcased the rich heritage of Hindu (Sanatan) culture, including its traditions, values, customs, music, arts, and spiritual philosophy. More importantly, it served as a platform for intercultural dialogue, friendship, and community engagement, reflecting the shared Australian values of inclusion, harmony, and respect for diversity.

The celebration of the Indian (Hindu) New Year provides an opportunity for Australians of Indian heritage to reconnect with their cultural roots and share the richness of their traditions with fellow Australians from diverse backgrounds. Such celebrations foster greater understanding, mutual respect, and social cohesion among communities.

Through this celebration, AHC Inc. seeks to strengthen community bonds and promote a deeper appreciation of the cultural contributions that enrich Australia's multicultural fabric.
