Based on the Hindu lunar calendar\, the New Year begins in the month of Chaitra and is celebrated under different names across various regions\, reflecting the rich diversity and unity of Indian culture. \nKnown as Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra\, Ugadi in Karnataka\, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana\, Cheti Chand among the Sindhi community\, Navreh in Kashmir\, Vishu in Kerala\, Puthandu in Tamil Nadu\, Baisakhi in Punjab\, Pohela Boishakh in West Bengal\, and Rongali Bihu in Assam\, these celebrations mark the beginning of a new cycle of prosperity\, gratitude\, and spiritual renewal. \nFor Hindus\, the New Year is an opportunity for self-reflection\, family gatherings\, community engagement\, and a renewed commitment to the values of Sanatan Dharma\, including harmony\, duty\, compassion\, and service to society.
